How copyright claims work on Europlus
We use a claims system modelled on the one big video platforms use. A claim is placed on a specific video or audio when a rights holder shows that it contains their work. Every claim is reviewed by our team, and the rights holder's choice decides what happens to the upload:
How to make a copyright claim
The fastest way is our online claim form, available on every video and audio page:
- Sign in to your Europlus account (or create one - it's free).
- Open the video or audio that uses your work.
- Under the player, open the Report tab and click Submit a copyright claim.
- Describe the work (title, artist / author, type), optionally where it appears in the upload (for example 0:02 - 4:54) and a link to the original.
- Enter the copyright owner's name and contact e-mail, confirm the two statements and type your full name as your signature.
- Submit. Our team reviews the claim, usually within a few days, and applies it to the upload. The uploader is notified and can see the claim.
Have many works or a catalogue to protect? Contact us below - we can register your recordings so matching uploads are claimed automatically.
Written DMCA notice
You can also send a notice under Title 17, Section 512(c)(3) of the United States Code (Digital Millennium Copyright Act). An effective notice must include substantially the following:
- Identification of the copyrighted work that is believed to be infringed - describe the work and, where possible, include the location (e.g. a URL) of an authorized version.
- Identification of the infringing material and its location on Europlus - the URL of each video or audio page.
- Your contact details: name, address, telephone number and e-mail address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the work.
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or an authorized representative.
Send the notice to anti321@europlus.us with the subject DMCA.
For uploaders: seeing and resolving claims
If a claim is placed on one of your uploads you get an e-mail and a notification, and the upload shows a badge in Library > My Uploads. Open the upload's edit page and choose the Claims tab to see who claimed what, where in the upload it was found and how it affects your upload. From there you can:
- Acknowledge the claim,
- Dispute it if the content is your own, licensed, fair use, public domain or wrongly identified,
- Make the upload private, or
- Delete the upload.
The best way to avoid claims: upload only content you created or have permission to use, and keep your licenses at hand.
Disputes and counter-notification
A dispute is reviewed by our team. While it is under review the claim stays in place. If we accept your dispute the claim is released and any strike connected to it is removed; if we reject it the claim remains. Where a formal DMCA counter-notification is required, include your name, address, phone number, the location of the removed material, a statement under penalty of perjury that it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court, and your signature.
Repeat infringer policy
Each copyright strike expires after 90 days. A channel that collects 3 active strikes is suspended. We may also terminate accounts that repeatedly infringe in other ways.
